philip lord

Philip Lord is the founder of the Digital Archiving Consultancy He has over 25 years’ experience with major global pharmaceutical and scientific organisations, most recently with GlaxoSmithKline, working on the management of regulatory documentation and the archiving of digital data in the R&D environment.

His previous work in scientific, medical and technical publishing in blue-chip companies in the Netherlands and UK, including was underpinned by an early career in medical research with the Medical Research Council. He has over wide experience of applying information technology and information management skills to solving business problems. Philip Lord has extensive international experience, working with senior managements in Europe, North America and Africa.

He is a member of the GAMP Special Interest Group on digital archiving, and is on the European Union’s DLM Network on digital archiving and good electronic records management practice. His professional activities have included vice-chairmanship of the ANSI Committee on CD-ROM standards leading to ISO 9660. He was a former Newsletter Editor and a committee member for the European Oracle Users Group.

Philip Lord studied mathematics at the universities of Reading, Sussex and London. He is the author of numerous articles on information management and academic publications. He speaks frequently at international forums on electronic data archiving and records management. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals and of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.
